Clinical Nurse: LPN/CMA

Job Title: Clinic Nurse/Certified Medical Assistant
Reports To: Nursing Supervisor/Clinical Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Provides professional nursing services through education and patient care
in a pediatric office setting by performing the following duties.

Duties and responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Works with nursing team to maintain safe and clean work environments. *
2. Answers incoming telephone calls on multi-line telephone system in a professional timely manner. *
3. Completes and maintains medical records and documents accurately and appropriately. *
4. Prepares patient charts for the following day, maintains and reviews records and places all reports in chronological order. *
5. Prepares patient for Physician and or other provider for examination for both sick and well visits. *
6. Prepares equipment and appropriate reports to aid the Physician and or other provider during treatment, examination and testing of patients. *
7. Administers/documents medication, vaccines and injections and specialized
nursing procedures within guidelines/protocols and in accordance with nursing standards. *
8. Provides patient education as directed by the Physician to ensure patient’s understanding of medical condition and compliance with treatment instructions in both the clinical and triage aspect. *
9. Arranges admissions, patient testing and specialty appointments. *
10. Maintains exam rooms, prepares stocks and cleans rooms as well as maintains equipment for treatment. *

Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; internet software and database software.

Certificates and Licenses:
Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse Certification
