Alberto Marante, MD

Alberto Marante, M.D. was born in Havana, Cuba.  After immigrating to the U.S., his family relocated to the Tampa Bay area in Florida where he attended the University of South Florida obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.  He then attended medical school in the Dominican Republic.

Post medical school he completed an Internship in Pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital and another Internship in Family Medicine at the University of Florida.  Later, he completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of South Florida following that training for a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Florida.

After completing his training, Dr. Marante practiced as a Pediatric Critical Care and Hospitalist physician while serving as Director of Pediatrics at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.   Several years later, he founded his own hospital-based practice as Florida Pediatric Critical Care which staffed several facilities in South East Florida.  During this time, Dr. Marante also served as Associate Professor for several medical schools and Program Director for the pediatric residency program at Palms West Hospital in Florida. In 2020, Dr. Marante was recruited by The Wright Center in Scranton, PA to serve as Associate Program Director for the Family Medicine Program and Director of Hospital Services among other things.  He has served in that capacity until he joined PAK on April 1st, 2024.

Dr. Marante resides in NEPA with his wife and two children and is fluent in English and Spanish and hopes to improve the pediatric care in the growing Hispanic community in our area.
