Well-child visit schedule
At PAK Pediatrics, we evaluate multiple aspects of your child’s health and well-being. During these comprehensive appointments, healthcare providers:
• Conduct thorough physical examinations to assess growth, development, and overall health
• Perform age-appropriate screenings and health assessments
• Administer recommended vaccinations
• Track and plot growth measurements (height, weight, head circumference)
• Evaluate developmental milestones
• Discuss nutrition, safety, and preventive health strategies
• Address parent and child health concerns
• Provide guidance on healthy lifestyle
These visits are crucial for early detection of potential health issues, ensuring children are developing normally, and supporting preventive healthcare. Recommended frequency varies by age, typically occurring multiple times during the first few years and then annually during childhood and teenage years.
Parents should bring medical records, a list of current medications, and any specific health questions to each well child visit. These proactive healthcare appointments are key to maintaining children’s physical and emotional well-being.

Immunizations
Vaccines are one of the most effective ways to keep your child safe from serious diseases. At our pediatric office, we expect all of our patients to follow the immunization schedule as recommended by the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Timely vaccinations not only help protect your child but also safeguard the health of the community. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s vaccines, our team is here to provide support and guidance every step of the way!
Standardized screenings
Aside from immunizations, we also perform a variety of screenings as your child ages, such as vision and hearing screenings. We follow the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for all children to receive standardized screening as part of their well-child care.
In the United States, 13% of children 3-17 years of age have developmental/behavioral disabilities such as autism, intellectual disability, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

These screenings, may or may not be covered by your health insurance. They may be applied to your deductible/coinsurance; therefore, you may be responsible for payment.
Developmental screenings
Many children with developmental delays are not given proper treatment as early as possible. By bringing in your child for well-visits at the recommended stages of their life, we have a better chance of detecting developmental delays early on. These screenings assist with defining motor skills, social-emotional, self-help, and expressive language.
Behavioral screenings
Our pediatric well-visits also extend beyond your child’s physical well-being. During these exams, we will also check in on how they handle their mental health with behavioral screenings. During a well-visit, children 11 years and up will receive a mental health screening.
The statistics on teenage suicide and depression have grown rapidly over the years. Teen suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for teenagers, so a teenager’s healthcare provider must be involved with their mental health. As such, we may ask the parent to step outside the exam room while asking your teenager about the mental health screening to help encourage an open conversation.
